A Dive into Sirvoy’s Latest Upgrades

May 06, 2024, 08:40 PM EDT

Hey there! We’re excited to let you know about some of the latest updates we’ve made to Sirvoy. These tweaks and improvements will make managing your property and keeping your guests smiling that much easier. Let’s look at what’s changed.

New Channel Notifications

We’ve introduced new details to email alerts about new or modified bookings. These details are designed to help you manage reservations more effectively and address any issues swiftly, enhancing guest satisfaction. Here’s what’s included:

  • New channel booking details: Notifications about new or modified bookings will cover new details– booked room type, the specific room, booking status (whether new, modified, or canceled), check-in and check-out dates, the price, and any guest comments.
  • New alerts: In rare cases where there’s an issue, like overbookings, we’ve got a fresh batch of email alerts to give you a heads-up and steer you towards a fix.

Plus, booking notifications now use the language you’ve picked in your localization settings.

Easier Channel Mapping

We’ve spruced up the channel mapping page to make it more user-friendly, with fresh updates for Booking.com, Hostelworld, and Bookvisit – and there’s more on the way! It’s now simpler to spot any discrepancies between your Sirvoy settings and those of your booking channels.

If you’re using Sirvoy Starter and eyeing more bookings from platforms like Booking.com or Expedia, switch to Sirvoy PRO to unlock those connections.

Also, you’ll find a new “Set category automatically” toggle on the mapping page for each channel (except iCal). This feature is great for automatically sending out tailored email templates based on category. Plus, you have the option to keep the category selection hidden on your booking engine, but set it automatically behind the scenes, ensuring your communication always matches the booking type.

Stripe & Stripe Terminal Enhancements

Stripe is our top pick for handling payments, and for good reason. It’s ideal for online payments with Stripe Checkout and in-person transactions with Stripe Terminal. Let’s talk about how our Stripe integration has gotten even better recently:

  • Improved credit card storage: Save guest credit cards on your Stripe Terminal, making it a breeze to charge for any extra purchases they make.
  • Enhanced log history: We’ve beefed up the booking log to show when cards move from Sirvoy Vault to Stripe and when cards are added from channels or straight from the booking engine.
  • Custom VAT rates: You can now set individual ‘default’ VAT rates for room types, extras, and custom invoice rows.
  • Optimized Stripe Terminal payments: Experience speedy transactions like never before.

More Booking Engine Customization

It’s now even easier for your guests to tell you exactly what they need by adding more space for comments in the booking form. You can choose to make this comment box optional, mandatory, or hide it completely. Just head over to Settings -> Booking Engine -> Create custom fields to set it up.

SCB Reporting on Statistics Page

Our built-in Statistics Sweden (SCB) reporting is now even more complete, with the addition of the “purpose of stay” feature. Now, you or your guests can specify the reason for each stay, which will be reflected in SCB reports.

On top of that, we’ve introduced a useful filter on the Statistics page, allowing you to omit certain room types, like those for staff or asylum seekers, from SCB reports. The names of these excluded room types are clearly shown in the SCB pop-up.
