Room type categories are used to organize room types into groups, allowing guests to search for rooms based on category and for customized automatic emails.
Creating and Assigning Categories
- Go to Settings -> Accommodations -> Categories.
- Click the pencil icon under “Categorie label”.
- Name the label for categories that will display when guests use the booking engine, like “Choose Location”, and then click “Save”.
- Click “Add New Category”, name it, and click “Save”.
- Repeat this step to create multiple categories.
- Go to Settings -> Accommodations and click “Edit” adjacent to a room type.
- Under “Categories” check all that will apply to this room type.
- The category picker’s auto-select feature and automatic emails based on category only work for room types with a single category.
- Repeat steps 5 and 6 for all room types.
Enabling Categories for Channel Bookings
Sirvoy can attempt to auto-assign a category to channel bookings based on room type, but this only works for room types with a single category.
- Go to Settings -> Channels.
- Click “Edit” next to a connected channel.
- Toggle on “Set category automatically.
- Click “Save”.
